Extra Bark Park...

I was surprised this morning. We went to the bark park. My mom only did 2 round trips of the park cause she was kinda tired from yesterday. Since my Gma's health isn't really great, she did the cooking at home and carted it over to Gma's house. My uncle Dave (dad's baby bro) was there too. Mom cooked Turkey, cornbread stuffing with extra corn, cranberry sauce, Yukon potatoes baked in olive oil with rosemary, sugar snap peas w/garlic & almonds, gravy, pickles, olives, rolls, pumpkin pie and French Vanilla CoolWhip. Whew! The smells from the oven were yummy. Me and the kitty sibs had some cut up turkey breast with our regular food.

Dad must have been a little tired this morning cause he got dressed, got his camera, walked me to the back door and let me out. As he was locking the back door, mom pointed out to him that if we were going to the bark park, we really should have a DOG with us? (snort, snort). Well- we finally got everything ready and off we went. It was a little cold this morning but we soon warmed up. I saw the huskies with their esky sib again and paid the proper respect. I met a weimy named Dakota. Her dad had just gotten out of the Air Force and she was less than a year old. She was very well mannered if a little shy. I saw Cookie again today. She looks like a less spotted bigger boned lady but an awful lot like Tin Tin. Cookie has a sister German Shephard cross named Sammy who has such a beautiful soul (that's what mom said). She was just soo sweet. I also met a border collie cross named Max who was in a big lets get down and dirty playing mood. Barking and jumping on everyone. I jumped and barked back. I also saw two little Westies with matching sweaters. Very cute. I am really enjoying having mom and dad home for a long weekend. Mom said we will probably go to the bark park again Sunday. She said that she felt a little guilty yesterday not going too. She is really getting into this walking thing. Maybe she will start dragging me around the neighborhood (she said). Have to go and take a nap now. I'm exhausted from all this running around. Usually my days are spent guarding and resting! Taking care of parents at home is hard work!

Before I forget.... I got a rather forceful hint that I should be switching over to Beta Blogger. Does anyone have any opinions/tips/gripes on the process of switching over? Let me know. Thanks.

Happy T-day C-K-C! We switched over to beta many weeks ago with no problems yet. Tip: When switching over, do NOT change your layout yet. Leave it as is, some people that switched and changed their layout lost some of their links, etc. (this is normal according to Blogger) So after you switch and things are going ok, then decide if you want to switch your layout. If you do, you need to save a copy of your old template first in case the new one goes funky or you need to add back in some of your links. This way you won't lose what they are. Good luck! Did you see your bowl yet???

Hey Charlie,

Good work getting your humans to remember they need to bring a dog to the park--keep running them around--that makes it a lot nicer to rest and sleep later.

Beta blogger is just fine--I don't notice too much difference, but my person said that if you've done a lot of customizing of your template, it might be a little bit of a pain

Haven't seen the bowl yet. It's coming to my Gma's house so it may not get here til tomorrow. My mom is still reluctant to switch to the new blogger.

Pippin:
Thanks for the info. I try to wear the parents down to a nubbin so when we get home they forget whether they have given me a cookie so to be on the safe side, they give me one! Hee hee. Works every time.

Hey, Charlie KC- we haven't switched over to Beta yet. We are waiting till we absolutely have to, so Blogger has time to work all the bugs out. Linda said a computer geek told her a long time ago to always avoid Beta versions of anything, to wait until all the problems that pop up are worked out. So we will wait until blogger makes us swtich over.

That is so cool that you get to go to the park so much. You got the bestest humans!

I am hoping after the Humans' son goes back home that we start going back to the causeway beach to play. This will be the 2nd weekend we haven't gotten to go. Having company sure interferes with my fun.

Isabella- why can't the human son go with you and your parents to the park? or let him rest in and you-all go. My mom feels that if she goes early (by 7:30- bark park opens at 6:30- and just light enough) then she can still get a lot of things done. Otherwise she just sits around and doesn't get as much accomplished. I don't care which it is as long as I get to go and run around a lot. I am getting better about letting people pet me and that makes mom and dad happy. They were worried at first that I would be too aggressive as I am at home but the park isn't home so I just enjoy myself more. I still keep an eye on mom and dad but am able to run and sniff and leave peemail to my heart's content.

I love Blogger Beta! It is so easy to make changes to your blog - colors, whatever! None of that HTML crap.

Blogger Beta has been better for us - primarily, the pictures don't take forever to load. We waited as long as we could to switch. Until we were completely locked out of the old.

Hey there Charlie,

sounds like you had a hectic time socialising at the bark park; that's great!

I haven't switched to beta yet either (the ma has switched some of her other blogs over with no probs)...just holding out a bit longer until we really have to.

Chow for now,

Hey C-K-C,

Sorry I'm a little late on this, but it sounds like you had a great long weekend with your hoomans!! Your daddy is funny locking you out, but you know, my mum does things like that all the time. I can't tell you how many times she's paid for groceries and then left without them. .... really embarrassing. I'm always thankful I'm in the car when that happens.

Those potatoes you were talking about, are they really all the way from the Yukon Territory here in Can?? We have them here too and I have always wondered...

About the Beta, I switched over back in Oct, and at first people were having problems viewing it..... I was regretting at the time, but now I have gotten used to how things work in Beta so I'm ok now. Maybe wait a little? Opy and Charlie dad basically said the same thing that Isabella said.

Hey Charlie Kelley-Church,

I've come to checkout your blog as promised. The meal your mum & dad made sounds yummy!

As we are new to this blogging business, we have no idea what is better or worse than anything else! Hopefully it will all get easier as time goes on. I'm sure I can ask all you lovely guys for help anyway.

C-K-C, I read your comment on my blog, and hehehehe... you dad sounds funny. But you know what's funnier? My mum is far from being a perfectionist, and yet she is still super slow at everything she does!!

Hey- tell your dad not to worry about having a perfect card. We dogs don't get hung up on that perfection stuff. You stay warm, girlfriend! Sounds really cold at your place. Or come spend the winter with me!
